Finances and the Black Women Hair

This episode of CarrWaxx we talk to Milan and Marsha Carr on how their hair is part of there everyday life and who they are.  But at the same time we talk about how ladies do what they have to do to balance that life and the personal decision on how they want their hair.  We talk about natural hair, weaves, extensions, et cetera. Also what impact does their hair choices impact their financial situation and societys reception of women of color who wear their natural hair.

Then, is there a market for women of color to capitalize on the huge billion dollar hair market, or is it something the corporate world and black society leaves in the hand of others?  And does this have  any effect on a woman self esteem?  Big question!!

Rent or Buy (is there a real choice)

Todays session on our Black folks and finance series. Chaz and I talk about the options that we have when it comes to investing in a home or investing before you get a job.  The pros and cons of renting and buying a home.  Some times its an option other times its a choice.  We discuss the opinions of economist and financial experts who sees that rushing out to buy a home isn't always the first choice. But, what do you think?

Saving and the attitude with money in the Black community

This week we have a special guest, Chaz Jenkins the founder of "Welcometothewall.com" Podcast/Blog.  We talk generational finance and savings and what can we do as a community to be come better.  Through our short and long life experiences, we share our experiences on issues we feel we can address as individuals.  With our difference in age and slightly different environments, we ask each other some of the hard questions and observations we have experienced.  We begin our money and financial education series on how we can speak to our communities and social circle to start a dialogue for improvement.
