Alicia and I fall head first in this twisted but enjoyable supernatural time traveling TV series from Netflix.  This German saga tells the story of three different eras that effects four different family unbeknownst of their history and relationship to each other over the last 66 years.

When two children go missing in a small German town, its sinful past is exposed along with the double lives and fractured relationships that exist among four families as they search for the kids. The mystery-drama series introduces an intricate puzzle filled with twists that includes a web of curious characters, all of whom have a connection to the town's troubled history -- whether they know it or not. The story includes supernatural elements that tie back to the same town in 1986. "Dark" represents the first German original series produced for Netflix

End of year best and worst Movies 2017

Alicia and I sit down and go through or best and worst movies of the year.  This time we have our own list and we talk through what we saw was worth seeing and a few honorable mentions as well.  We think this was a really average year but there was absolutely some gems and trash that came out

Bright (Netflix)

Alicia and I sit down to watch one of Netflix new movies that cost over $90 million.  A fantasy cop drama that was totally beat up by the critics but got some love from the viewers and audience.  We add our review to the mix.

Two police officers, one a human, the other an orc, Battle both their own personal differences as well as an onslaught of enemies together, to protect a young female elf and a thought-to-be-forgotten relic

Star Wars - The Last Jedi

Watch the new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and see it in theaters December 15.

Soooo, we go see the new Star War movie the last Jedi. This 2 1/2 hour movie was the next edition of the Star War series.  Alicia and I saw the mixed reviews  (86% critics / 56% people review) and figured the people missed the true premise of the movie and the critics were right.  So we find out, one of them was absolutely correct

Luke Skywalker's peaceful and solitary existence gets upended when he encounters Rey, a young woman who shows strong signs of the Force. Her desire to learn the ways of the Jedi forces Luke to make a decision that changes their lives forever. Meanwhile, Kylo Ren and General Hux lead the First Order in an all-out assault against Leia and the Resistance for supremacy of the galaxy

Mudbound (Netflix)

Alicia and I were moved to see this film on Netflix by the reviews and the Golden Globe nomination of Mary J. Blige.  An interesting movie we initially thought was a typical southern white family story aligned beside a southern black family in the 1940's. But this movie showed an amazing directorial process and interpretation of the book "Mudbound" by Hillary Jordan by Dee Rees.   

Laura McAllan is trying to raise her children on her husband's Mississippi Delta farm, a place she finds foreign and frightening. In the midst of the family's struggles, two young men return from the war to work the land. Jamie McAllan, Laura's brother-in-law, is everything her husband is not - charming and handsome, but he is haunted by his memories of combat. Ronsel Jackson, eldest son of the black sharecroppers who live on the McAllan farm, now battles the prejudice in the Jim Crow South

Justice league (DC Universe) Movie

This episode Alicia and I go to the matinee to watch the new DC release Justice league.  After enjoying the Wonder Woman movie and slightly looking forward to this release after the Superman vs. Batman.  we talk about the pros and cons of the movie despite the bad ratings and the low box office results.

This episode Alicia and I review the popular Netflix series Stranger Things.  I did a quick blog on the first season of Stranger Things last year but we wanted to do a podcast on thisseason because of how much we enjoyed the first.  We have different perspectives from season to season but overall listen as we share our view.

Big fan of the comic book character Frank Castle.  I convinced Alicia to sit and watch this series with me on Netflix.  First introduced on the Netflix Marvel Series Daredevil.  I eagerly awaited for his series to come out.  Here's the surprising review by Alicia and I.

Now known as the Punisher, he must dig deep into the conspiracy to discover the truth about injustices that affect more than just him and his family. Assisting the vigilante in his quest to fight criminals are best friend Billy Russo, who runs private military corporation Anvil, and former NSA analyst Micro, who shares common enemies with Castle and helps him as part of a so-called marriage of convenience.

Alicia and finally get around to see our iconic 42nd street put into a TV series.  We talk about our time in downtown Manhattan and different aspects of the sex trade in NYC that the TV series shows. 

 "The Deuce" tells of the germination of the sex-trade industry in the heart of New York's Times Square. It's the early 1970s, and the porn business begins a shift from organized crime-backed parlors to a legitimate, culturally accepted enterprise.

Tonight Alicia and I take a late night movie in to see the new Thor movie.  Paying full price is not our thing but opening weekend of the the movie.  We had to go see it.  Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk, his former ally and fellow Avenger.
