Parasite (Korean)

Act like you own the place. #Parasite is in US Theaters October 11. Bong Joon Ho brings his singular mastery home to Korea in this pitch-black modern fairytale. Meet the Park Family: the picture of aspirational wealth. And the Kim Family, rich in street smarts but not much else.

This Korean drama was awarded and praised at the Cannes film festival by the great Korean director Bong Joon Ho. This was something I knew I wanted to see but wasn't sure if Alicia would be able to keep up with subtitles. This film turned out to be an amazing lesson in the differences of class, privilege and suspense. This movie was laid out so well that you never knew would would be next. An extraordinary piece of art.

SEARCHING (2018)

We are what we hide. #SearchingMovie is only in theaters August. After David Kim (John Cho)'s 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a local investigation is opened and a detective is assigned to the case. But 37 hours later and without a single lead, David decides to search the one place no one has looked yet, where all secrets are kept today: his daughter's laptop.

Alicia and I sit down to watch this amazing tech driven mystery.  No on our immediate radar but as we watched some short prevews and reviews.  We thought this would be a great movie to jump into for this week. With great twist and turns with a creative way of filming.  This movie was worth watching.

After David Kim (John Cho)'s 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a local investigation is opened and a detective is assigned to the case. But 37 hours later and without a single lead, David decides to search the one place no one has looked yet, where all secrets are kept today: his daughter's laptop. In a hyper-modern thriller told via the technology devices we use every day to communicate, David must trace his daughter's digital footprints before she disappears forever.

Upgrade 2018

Not Man. Not Machine. More. From Leigh Whannell, visionary creator of SAW and INSIDIOUS, UPGRADE is in theaters 6/1. #UPGRADEmovie

Alicia and I decided on going to the movie and flipped a coin and went with the reviews to choose this independent move from the the "Blumhouse" producer.  This Sci Fi action horror film turned out to be a lot more than we expected.  A good to movie after overdosing on Marvel movies and star wars disappointments

A brutal mugging leaves Grey Trace paralyzed in the hospital and his beloved wife dead. A billionaire inventor soon offers Trace a cure -- an artificial intelligence implant called STEM that will enhance his body. Now able to walk, Grey finds that he also has superhuman strength and agility -- skills he uses to seek revenge against the thugs who destroyed his life

The Killing of a Sacred Deer

SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/A24subscribe From writer/director Yorgos Lanthimos and starring Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, Barry Keoghan, and Alicia Silverstone. The Killing of a Sacred Deer - Now Playing.

This review I delve into the psychological and abstract movies that takes a little more than watching and knowing what the plot, ending and story is all about.  This one is the killing of a sacred deer. A Yorgos Lanthimos movie that is so interesting the way it speaks to revenge, sacrifice and responsibility.

Dr. Steven Murphy is a renowned cardiovascular surgeon who presides over a spotless household with his wife and two children. Lurking at the margins of his idyllic suburban existence is Martin, a fatherless teen who insinuates himself into the doctor's life in gradually unsettling ways. Soon, the full scope of Martin's intent becomes menacingly clear when he confronts Steven with a long-forgotten transgression that will shatter his domestic bliss forever.

A Ghost Story

SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/A24subscribe It's all about time. Watch the official trailer for A GHOST STORY, from writer/director David Lowery, starring Rooney Mara and Casey Affleck. Now Playing.

In this singular exploration of legacy, love, loss, and the enormity of existence, a recently deceased, white-sheeted ghost returns to his suburban home to try to reconnect with his bereft wife.

That was summary to the movie but anyway, Alicia and I watched this critically acclaimed movie called A ghost Story separately after I was recommended to watch and review this independent film.  This love, spiritual and exploration of time story is an interesting view of what love and time does to a person when you have no control of what can be done.
