From Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation) comes Upload, a new sci-fi comedy. In the near future, people who are near death can be "uploaded" into ...

Looking at the previews for this new TV series, I wasn't sure if this would be something I would find entertaining.  But here's the catch, Its about dying and your consciences is uploaded into a virtual reality.  Only if you can pay for the everlasting life.  Made me go Hmmm, so I invited Alicia to watch it with me.  Also as a added bonus, It was from Greg Daniels the creator of The Office, Parks and Recreation

Hunters (Amazon)

Amazon-Hunters-Season.jpg

We sit down this week to look at a show that I really didn’t think would be worth my while. I’m not a big fan of Nazi and Jewish history unless its a bit unique and interesting. So when I saw some of the reviews and being a big fan of Al Pacino. I decided to sit down to see this Nazi hunter show to see if I would be able to sit through the whole 10 episodes.

Hanna the series - Hanna the Movie

HANNA follows the journey of an extraordinary young girl raised in the forest, as she evades the relentless pursuit of an off-book CIA agent and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is.

We sit down and watch the Hanna series after we have enjoyed the Hanna movie released in 2011. This Amazon series expands the scope of the story and fills in gaps that the movie couldn’t do within a hour and 51 minute movie. Decent reviews for the movie and the Amazon series gets us to our review.

Alicia and I take a quick binge trip with this very interesting Amazon series converted from the podcast series of the same name. Beautifully done directed by Sam Ismail better known for his work with the Mr. Robot series. This conspiracy military, rehab center, DOD suspense thriller takes you on a slow burn with corporate corruption, deception and pharmaceutical poisoning to a very real story line for profit

Heidi Bergman is a caseworker at Homecoming, a facility that helps soldiers transition back to civilian life. She leaves Homecoming to start a new life living with her mother and working as a small-town waitress. Years later, the Department of Defense questions why she left, which makes Heidi realize that there's a whole other story behind the one that she's been telling herself. Oscar winner Julia Roberts stars as Heidi in the first regular TV series role of her career. "Homecoming" is based a podcast of the same name.

He soon uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.

So for the last couple of days I sat down and watched three of 5 Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan movies. To prepare me for the Amazon series “Jack Ryan”. I wanted to have a perspective before I started watching the series in case there was an unconscience bias about the character and the stories.

Author Tom Clancy introduced the character of Jack Ryan in a series of books before Ryan headed to the big screen in several films. Now the former U.S. Marine is featured in an episodic series for the first time, with John Krasinski portraying Ryan in this Amazon original thriller that centers on Ryan as an up-and-coming CIA analyst. He is thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time and uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication. That launches him into the middle of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale

The Big Sick

The Big Sick is based on the real-life courtship between Pakistan-born comedian Kumail Nanjiani (Kumail Nanjiani) and grad student Emily Gordon (Zoe Kazan) who fall in love but struggle as their cultures clash. When Emily contracts a mysterious illness, Kumail finds himself forced to face her feisty parents, his family's expectations, and his true feelings.

With this episode Alicia wanted me to take the time and watch a movie that I was avoiding based on the sappiness of this love story. But because of the Golden Globe nominations, this critically acclaimed movie based on the comedian's real life, was something we had to see in order to compare the nominees on the list or what actors or actresses should have been nominated.

Kumail is a Pakistani comic who meets an American graduate student named Emily at one of his stand-up shows. As their relationship blossoms, he soon becomes worried about what his traditional Muslim parents will think of her. When Emily suddenly comes down with an illness that leaves her in a coma, Kumail finds himself developing a bond with her deeply concerned mother and father
