So this is a weird one. I’m usually into quality made movies or action packed epic films. Also If it is written well, a drama that catches my attention. But this recommendation was a 2017 B movie about time travel. I was told it was similar to my time travel preferences so I stopped to check it out. Here is the synopsis. A group of students become trapped inside a mysterious cave where they discover time passes differently underground than on the surface.
The Umbrella Academy season 2
Alicia and I sit down to watch season 2 of this cleverly created and directed Netflix show. Because there are so many superhero shows out, we didn’t expect the encore to be as good as the first season.
Project Power (Netflix)
Some times we run into a movie everyone is checking out or happen to keep rotating into my Netflix queue. This one is a Jamie Foxx lead action thriller. A simple story line with an over zealous director. Is there action? Yes, is it thrilling? Here’s our thoughts.
Star Wars - The rise of Skywalker
Alicia and I go out to see the last of the Skywalker saga or series and me. I really didn’t expect this to be better than the previous one because of the weak release prior to this. But we came in with open minds and surprisingly it gave us a good ending to the Star Wars saga.
The Twilight Zone 2019 (Jordan Peele)
We sit down and binge watch the new Twilight zone narrated by Peele. His unique view of twisted reality and fantasy on a different level made us want to watch these episodes and see how he painted anew picture of stores originated by the late great Rod Serling
X-MEN: Dark Phoenix
Sooooo, Alicia and I go to the last of the Marvel series for Fox. The last of the X-men series. regardless of the bad reviews, we wanted to see this Marvel movie and see if this would transition to the Disney MCU or will it be a closure of the X-men saga. Again will we be watching a good closing of the series or will this be another throw away movie based on Fox not giving 2 F's now that they won't make any more money from it.
Alita - Battle Angel
So this late release of the James Cameron/Robert Rodriguez blockbuster was highly anticipated but got lost under the barrage of the DC and Marvel superhero movies. So it was pushed all the way into 2019. his heavily CGI SFX movie based on a Japanese Manga series look like something that needed to be seen but had us skeptical. Here’s our take.
Solo - A Star Wars story
We would say we are excited or looking forward to seeing this new Star Wars spin off but we had very low expectations. We go see this new Origin story for Han Solo and look forward to Donald Glovers take on Lando Calrissian and the characters we have grown to love in the Star Wars universe
Young Han Solo finds adventure when he joins a gang of galactic smugglers, including a 196-year-old Wookie named Chewbacca. Indebted to the gangster Dryden Vos, the crew devises a daring plan to travel to the mining planet Kessel to steal a batch of valuable coaxium. In need of a fast ship, Solo meets Lando Calrissian, the suave owner of the perfect vessel for the dangerous mission -- the Millennium Falcon
A Quiet Place
There's a big buzz about this new horror movie that jumped out to number 1 at the box office. Critics are praising it and people are going to see it so I thought Alicia and I would go see whats all the bru haha was all about. Emily Blunt one of my favorite actresses is on screen with her husband John Krasinski (the office alumni). Alicia is not a horror fan but she is taking the plunge based on much of the talk and reviews.
In the modern horror thriller A QUIET PLACE, a family of four must navigate their lives in silence after mysterious creatures that hunt by sound threaten their survival. If they hear you, they hunt you. A Quiet Place is a 2018 American horror film directed by John Krasinski, who also stars alongside Emily Blunt, his real-life spouse. The film is produced by Michael Bay's company, Platinum Dunes, which is also owned by Andrew Form and Bradley Fuller. The screenplay was written by Krasinski, Bryan Woods, and Scott Beck, based on a story by Woods and Beck. The plot follows a family who must live life in silence while hiding from creatures that hunt by sound.
Downsizing
This movie was a very badly rated film that we felt was an interesting concept. Thinking it was another version of Honey I shrunk the kids, but with a modern twist. We happen to be wrong but this is not what people expected to be so we took the time to check it out. Actually an interesting movie.
When scientists discover how to shrink humans to five inches tall as a solution to overpopulation, Paul (Matt Damon) and his wife Audrey (Kristen Wiig) decide to abandon their stressed lives in order to get small and move to a new downsized community — a choice that triggers life-changing adventures
