My First Grenache Blanc

 

Fresh cut blossoms greet the nose - soft, clean and inviting. On the palate, crisp green apple is complemented by tropical notes of melon with a slightly buttery and creamy finish.

 

Grenache blanc is a variety of white wine grape that is related to the red grape Grenache. It is mostly found in Rhône wine blends and in northeast Spain as well.  I wanted to try this white wine grape because I've tried most of my Grenache wines from the Rhone region and Australia.

Grenache or Garnacha is one of the most widely planted red wine grape varieties in the world. It ripens late, so it needs hot, dry conditions such as those found in Spain
